How to create a full-disk backup of your PC with Macrium Reflect

Visit the Macrium Reflect website and download the “Free” edition.
Run the installer and complete the installation process.
Launch the application
Open Macrium Reflect from the Start menu.
You’ll be prompted to create rescue media—you can either do it now or skip for later.
Start the backup process
Click Backup > Image Selected Disks.
You can also click Backup > Back up Windows if you wish to only backup your Window system drive.
Choose the disks/partitions to include in the backup. For a full backup, select All.
Choose a backup destination
Select a folder or external drive with sufficient storage space.
Configure Backup Settings

The backup will be saved as .mrimg files in the location you chose.
How to create rescue media
Open the Rescue Media tool
Click Other Tasks > Create Rescue Media.
Follow the instructions and accept default options if using the same PC.
Create bootable media
When you go to the Rescue Media Wizard page, choose between a CD/DVD or USB drive that contains a recovery environment.
Click Finish to create your bootable recovery media.
How to restore a full-disk backup
Boot from rescue media
Insert your rescue media and boot your PC from it.
Access your BIOS or boot menu if needed.
Load the backup image
Click Browse for an image or backup file to restore and select your .mrimg file.
Confirm and start Restore
Review the backup details and click Restore Image.
Click Select a Disk to Restore To to choose your target disk.
Note: Selecting the wrong disk will erase its contents. For example, choosing a secondary files drive by mistake could result in data loss.
Macrium Reflect might automatically select the disk, but you can click on Select a Different Target Disk to change your selection.
Choose the partitions you want to copy—all partitions will be selected by default.
Click Copy Selected Partitions to confirm you want to restore them to the selected drive.
Click Next.
Complete the Restore process
Confirm the information and click Finish to start copying.
Once the process finishes, click Shutdown to remove the Macrium Reflect recovery image, then restart the PC.
